rollercoaster mania

My deep, dark confession for the week?

I'm secretly an addict.

A rollercoaster addict, that is. (Or a chocolate addict, but that's a whole other story that involves cupcakes baked at 8 am...)

This was such a well-guarded secret (or perhaps I was just in denial?) that I didn't discover it until last week, during my (last-ever!) end-of-year trip.

(this is some of us after we survived the biggest rollercoaster. Amazingly. I thought I was going to die)

Unfortunately, however, my group didn't even go on too many rollercoasters. As often happens when I am involved, we managed to get lost. (Although maybe that's the wrong term- let's call it 'disjointed wanderings' instead?) For this reason, instead of going on many different rides... we went on the swings three times.

But let's be honest here. Who doesn't love swings? (We definitely did- just watch us!)

With all this swinging, I didn't get a chance to take many photos- I was too busy trying not to pass out (and with that description, who wouldn't want to go on rollercoasters?)- but one of my friends did take a few while he was waiting for my other friend and I to go on this ride, as he had decided it was too 'childish'.

(I'm happy here because we hadn't yet started spinning. This soon changed)

He also had a conversation with himself between our phones. Really, I think coming on the ride with us would have been preferable... or maybe not, considering how sick and dizzy I felt afterwards. Spinny rides are officially Not For Me. (However, bumper cars are- a fact I also just discovered. My childhood was spent reading, not playing on these wonderful contraptions... how did I miss out?)

What do you think of amusement parks and rollercoasters? Any rides you'd never try?

i missed my birthday

I didn't stay up quite late enough, you see. The fraction of a second that is, this year, my birthday, passed me by.

Being born on February 29th is, for this reason, occasionally a trial. The number of jokes I've had to endure... "It's not really your birthday!" "You're really advanced for a four-year-old..." "Oh, you're only four, you're not allowed to do that!" However, for this same reason, I can also retort such brilliant things as "Well, if I'm only four, then why am I so much smarter than you?" etc... which can also be fun.

Plus, being born on February (does anyone else have to sound it out in their head to make sure they insert the 'r' at the right place?) 29th makes me feel... a little bit special. Not many people can say that their birthday is an anomaly. (Maybe that's part of the reason I'm so socially awkward? Date-wise, I am out of tune with the rest of the world?)

However, this year, the universe bestowed upon me an extra present... more snow. Just look at this view:

It might be the best present I could have recieved. And how did I see it, you might ask?

My mother and I went toboganning before school, of course!

Okay, so there might also have been quite a bit of spinning and falling involved... but that's part of the fun. (It's not really toboganning if you haven't faceplanted at least once.) Some people may argue that this confirms it- that I am, deep inside, only four- but it's my opinion that toboganning is one of those pleasures you never grow too old for.

Thank you, world, for a lovely sort-of birthday!

Yes, Facebook. The 29th is a real date. Even if it does only exist for a millisecond.

what I stick in (and sometimes on) my eyes

Reasons I like blue mascara:
1) It's blue. (Really, the list could just end here and it'd be complete.)
2) Small children compliment me on it. (At least I know, if I ever do decide to have a child, that we'll have something in common.)
3) Ot has been worn during the majority of my (sort of) successful flirting experiences. (Obviously, it has magical powers.) (Although it doesn't always work...)
My current weapon of choice is the Diorshow Waterproof mascara!

As you can see, the brush is slightly huge... but I love it. It's just so blue and lengthening!

(Admire the hat, and the pyjamas. Even when getting ready for bed, I'm stylish.)

You ninjas who have been with me for a while might be wondering, what happened to the one mentioned in this post? I regret to tell you (try not to cry too much, now) that it is deceased. It developed a rare disease known as "The Clumps" and degenerated quickly. However, I gave it a lovely funeral! (...or maybe just threw it out.)

My inspiration for today's look:

Audrey Hepburn and I- twins.

(Haha. In my dreams.) In other news, school started back today- you can see the ever-glamourous polo in this shot. (Yet another reason I am not anything like Audrey Hepburn. I'm certain that, if she was ever forced to wear a uniform, it had decent blouses at the very least.) Has anyone ever heard the saying: "the best days of your life" as regards their teenage years? My only thought on the subject is, if these are the best days, I'm not sure I want to experience the rest!

(That came out sounding far darker than I'd intended. Please, have no fear for my mental health- unless you think a belief in unicorns is unhealthy- just consider this the desperation of a girl whose morning began with "my cat stole my USB" and went downhill from there.)

Hopefully your Monday wasn't too awful! (I'd wish that it was wonderful, but it was a Monday; I don't think there is such a thing as a wonderful Monday, and if there is, it has the same rarity as a great sale at Sephora or a non-cheesy One Direction song.)
