my reincarnation as a unicorn princess

This can also be read as 'I dyed pink streaks in my hair' but really, where's the fun in that?

I like it because it's both natural (well, as natural as pink can be... if I continue thinking in the unicorn-princess vein, it does indeed seem average!) and noticeable.

It's definitely not as adventurous as my last venture into hair colour... but I'm happy with it! I have yet to notice any magical powers revealed- since, the first thing I would do if I discovered some would be to summon spring.  Much as I love snow,  can't wait to be able to wear all my pretty dresses! (THEY'RE TAUNTING ME. Whoever said that clothes cannot speak has obviously never seen my malicious closet. If it's not saying 'haha, it's still under zero, you can't wear me! I'll just chill here and be happy without you' it's reprimanding me for not folding it. I can't win.)

Now, all I need is a pair of wings...

love it or hate it: luscious locks

Today's PDA prompt: HAIR. (Or, to sound prettier: luscious locks!) My first reaction:...ughhh. I have to say, my hair is a bit of a bĂȘte noire for me. I have unfortunately never been one of those girls with perfect hair. I probably never will be. My hair will look gorgeous for a few minutes, then will resume its natural fluffy, semi-wavy state. (Why is it not shiny and smooth and gorgeous? Or curly and full-bodied? WHY? Just let me have a quick break while I crumple sobbing on the floor.)

Because of this, I try to do super easy up-dos...aka ponytails... most of the time. (Hopefully I make a cute pony!) Right now I'm addicted to chopstick buns! Easy to do and you're assured that there'll always be supplies on hand.

This is the video that I used:

I usually put in 2 chopsticks, just because I find it looks more symmetrical and prettier! Plus, it stays in super well. (I even wore it for jogging!) I also love sock buns. My hair looks so nice and full! (And again, it stays in all day with very little help.) Here's a picture of the look:

(This doesn't really do it justice...  It's actually bigger than that, haha!) It's perfect for people like me with long, fine hair. Does anyone else have this problem? What are your hair secrets?

Oh, and finally: a picture of me with my gorgeous blue hair!

I posted about this here. I loved it while it lasted... and now it's entirely gone. It was just so BRIGHT! I find dyed hair is a conversation piece, which is really fun. I also had purple streaks for a while, and I'm thinking of getting some pink. Have you ever dyed your hair crazy colours?

blue quite literally

I can be very impulsive. Sometimes, these impulses are BAD. (Witness the time I asked my friend's mother if she was wearing a dress made of wallpaper...) However, sometimes they turn out pretty well. This week, guess what my impulse was?

If you guessed 'dyed your hair'... a thousand points. Yes! I dyed my tips blue! What do you think? I'm quite happy with it. And my hair isn't too dry, which is good. I think next time I'd do it a little less high (I went a little overboard, as my blue-spattered counter also demonstrates. Good thing I wasn't doing red, or it would look like a crime scene) but other than that it's brilliant. Has anyone else ever dyed their hair blue?

I must say though, major changes in appearance like this really show the difference between boys and girls. Case in point: I was talking to one of the guys in my class early this morning, while the hallway (yes, my highschool is so small that we only have one hallway) was still empty. I've asked him if he notices when girls where makeup, and he gave me a bewildered look and asked "Do the girls here really wear much? I never noticed."

As you've all seen the looks I wear, you know they're in no way understated. I was quite surprised- how can you not notice it?- but let it go, saying, "It's good I'm not wearing it for you, then!" Which is a big fat lie, but whatever.

One of the (female) teachers arrived, and called out that she loved my hair. I looked back at the guy (really, I need to develop witty and creative nicknames) just in time to see his eyes dart to my hair and widen to the size of loonies.

He totally hadn't noticed.

And it's not subtle either. This raises the question- where exactly was he looking? Obviously not at my face, since he didn't notice my makeup, and apparently not at my chest either, if he didn't see my hair... so then, where? My elbow? My knee? (I'm sure my elbows are extremely attractive... but I'd rather think that my face is prettier.)

In other news, I'm going away! I leave tomorrow night and get back Tuesday morning... so no posts all that time. (Try not to cry- I know it's hard.) I'll try to post something tomorrow morning so that you don't miss me too much. Oh, and where will I be? Attending a combination dance workshop/French party event... operating on little sleep and deplorable food... so I'm sure I'll return with plenty of fascinating stories.(Or maybe just incomprehensible ones. Anything can happen without sleep.)

Hope your weeks are going great!
